Miss Southern Union

The Miss Southern Union pageant is a scholarship pageant that offers over $2,000 in scholarships to participants each year.

It is a part of the Miss America Organization that provides millions of dollars in scholarship money to contestants throughout the United States. Miss Southern Union competes for the title of Miss Alabama each summer.

QUALIFICATIONS: To enter the Miss Southern Union Scholarship Pageant, or any other Miss America local preliminary, contestants must meet certain basic requirements and agree to abide by all the rules of the local, state, and national Miss America Pageant now in effect or as announced hereafter. To be a contestant in the Miss Southern Union Pageant, you must:

  • Be a female age 18-28
  • Be a citizen of the United States of America
  • Not be married, never been married, never had a marriage annulled, never cohabited or have a child
  • Be available for public appearances as Miss Southern Union
  • Be enrolled as a full-time student at Southern Union

 

Miss Southern Union 2024

 

Miss Southern Union will be held January 18, 2024 in Brazeal Auditorium on the Wadley Campus.

 To enter:

  • Register as a participant with the Miss America Organization by visiting missalabama.com
  • Login to register as a participant with MAO. Select which local preliminary you would like to compete in and register for it.
  • Return your contestant packet to Shondae Brown, Miss SU Director, by noon on December 15, 2023.

 Your packet must contain the following:

Miss Alabama Contract

Miss SU Local Contract

Interview Fact Sheet (6 copies)

Community Service Initiative Essay (6 copies)

Photo (5x7)

Notorized Copy of birth certificate

Copy of medical insurance card (if applicable)

Talent CD

For the fitness competition, please reference here for styles of fitness wear that are accepted.  You may order directly from REBEL or you may just wear a solid red top and bottom in the approved styles.
