The Alabama Community College System is moving to a unified identity for all applications including Banner, Canvas and Microsoft Office 365. The new unified Canvas environment and Banner will be the first systems to use the new authentication. The preferred method of logging in will be through the Ellucian Experience portal product that has been rolled out gradually over the last month at each institution.


One-Tenant (alabama.edu) Information

This will be the first step in the upcoming changes.

All employees and students will need to verify their personal Email address in the Self Service Banner Portal by the end of the day on Thursday, March 21.

As part of the new Unified Authentication System that is being implemented across all ACCS institutions, all employees must verify their Personal email address is correct in Self Service Banner (SSB). This is critical because individual account login credentials for the new one-tenant will be emailed to the personal email address listed in SSB. If you do not have a personal email address listed, you will need to add one.
There are some guidelines regarding the personal email address you can use.
  1. Your Personal email address cannot be your suscc.edu or mail.suscc.edu email address.
  2. Your Personal email address will need to be one you currently have access to and check regularly.
  3. If you do not have a personal email address, you can create a free email account using one of the free email providers like Google or Yahoo.

It is important that you ensure your Personal email address is updated no later than Thursday, March 21, 2024. Important informatin regarding your new account will be sent to your personal email address only. 

On March 27, 2024 all users will need to login to the SSB, Banner Admin Pages, and Canvas using the new email address format ( Number@alabama.edu).

Migration to Office 365

Sometime over the next few months we will be migrating from Google email services to Microsoft Office 365. This will involve transferring all our emails from Gmail to Outlook and all of your Google Drive files to One Drive.

Canvas

All ACCS Community Colleges will start using the same Canvas platform. 

Ellucian Experience

Ellucian Experience will be the preferred portal for Self-Service Banner (SSB) and Banner Admin pages.
