English as a Second Language Classes

Welcome to the English as a Second Language (ESL) Program with Adult Education at Southern Union State Community College

We are excited about helping our international community to learn the English language and American culture. Along with the ESL (English as a Second Language) classes, we also offer English for Specific Purposes (ESP) courses. These include English for Business & Career and Citizenship Interview Training. Our Family Literacy program provides opportunities for English speakers of other languages (ESOL) to earn certificates in Northstar Digital Literacy, First Aid/CPR, and CNA.

It is our goal to create a safe and welcoming environment for our international students and help them pursue their career and succeed in their professional growth. We believe in validating the unique cultural background of every individual and opening opportunities for him/her to integrate into the local community and contribute to the well-being of our society. It is our mission to equip our students with the life skills they need for a productive and meaningful future.
