The Health Sciences Division offers programs within
the departments of Emergency Medical Services, Nursing, Physical
Education, and Radiography. Physical education courses, including
health education, first aid, and activity courses, are taught on
all three campuses of Southern Union during the mornings, afternoons,
and evenings. Associate Degree Nursing and Emergency Medical Services
(Basic) are taught on the Opelika and Wadley Campus, while Emergency
Medical Services (Paramedic), Fire Science, Nursing Assisting, Practical
Nursing, Radiography, and Surgical Operating Room Technology are
taught only on the Opelika Campus. |

Physical education and health education courses
are taught on all three campuses of the College. The athletic
teams at Southern Union are under the supervision of the Dean
of Students while the academic physical education courses are
under the direction of the Dean of Health Sciences. Any student
may enroll in the physical education courses to satisfy degree
requirements or personal interests; however, only members of the
athletic teams may register for the varsity physical education
courses. The athletics offered at the College are men's and women's
basketball, men's baseball, women's softball, men's and women's
cross country, women's volleyball, and cheerleading.
