Academic Boot Camp

Students who do not have an ACT score of 20 or above in English and/or math, and a score of 17 or higher in reading, or a SAT score of 480 or above in the verbal and/or math sections, are required to take the COMPASS placement test after they have submitted their application for general admission to the College.

Students testing into a remedial or transitional course, (MTH 090, MTH 098, or ENR094) should consider attending the Academic Boot Camp prior to retesting on the COMPASS.  You should NOT retest on the COMPASS prior to the Boot Camp ( Students can only take the COMPASS test 2 times in a 3 year period).

The cost for the ACADEMIC BOOT CAMP is $15. Students participating in the Boot Camp must supply a set of earphones for their own personal use.

How it works:

  1. Take the COMPASS placement test.
  2. If your score places you in a course that begins with a zero (ex. Math 090), consider enrolling in a BOOT CAMP session offered on the dates below to review the skills you have yet to master.
  3. Retake the COMPASS test to improve your score and perhaps place in a higher level class.
