LIBRARIAN/MEDIA SPECIALIST

WRITING COACH

ENGLISH TUTOR
Duties will include:  planning, facilitating, and providing direct tutoring services to students, with an emphasis on English; providing learning support information and assistance to students, faculty, and other college staff. MATH COACH
Duties will include:  planning and facilitating the math support course utilizing collaborative learning methodologies.   Assisting students in the math support course with development of math and non-cognitive skills.   Maintaining consistent communication with the lead instructor.  Providing direct tutoring services to students in mathematics. MATH TUTOR

Adult Education: Part-Time Adult Education Instructors
Adult Education teachers must have the minimum of a bachelor’s degree in education or one of the GED content areas (Math, Science, English or Social Studies); teaching experience is preferred.   Substitute teachers must have a bachelor's degree in education or a related field; teaching experience is preferred.  Substitute teachers who lack a degree in education or one of the content areas may qualify as a teacher after one year successful experience in the Adult Education classroom.  Aides must have an associate's degree. Adult Education: Part-Time English Language Learner (ELL) Instructors

Adult Education teachers must have the minimum bachelor’s degree in education or a content-related field;  upon completion of 3 month probationary period, must have earned a 12.9+ score in every content area (Language, Reading and Math) on the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) A level test, or  within the past 10 years, have earned a 21 composite score on the ACT or 990 on the SAT;  pass the TABE Clas-E Test on graduate level.  Pay rate:  $17.15 -$24.96 per hour.  For more information contact the Department of Adult Education at 334-745-6437 extension 5339 or extension 5314.

Health Sciences: Nursing Clinical Instructor
Qualified applicants must possess a minimum of an Associate's Degree in Nursing and demonstrate three (3) years' experience in the clinical area for which they are applying. Health Sciences: Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
Lab Assistant  -

Health Sciences:  Medical Assistant Technology (MAT) Instructor

Workforce Development Division:  Non-credit Electrical/Industrial Maintenance or Millwright adjunct instructor/trainer
Non-credit instructors must hold the minimum of an associate's degree or equivalent in the teaching discipline with three (3) years of successful full-time experience as a practitioner in the field (machining, maintenance, electrical, engineering, manufacturing maintenance, millwright, tool & die).  Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.   For more information, contact the Dean of Technical Education and Workforce Development, at (334) 745-6437 extension 5380.

BUILDING ENTRY MONITOR
Duties will include: monitoring access to the College's facilities and ensuring students and staff comply with COVID-19 protocols.  Qualified applicants must hold the minimum of a high school diploma or GED.  Pay rate: $9.19 per hour.

SECRETARY/CLERK
Duties will include: maintaining student records in database; assisting with registration; maintaining filing system; and performing general office duties such as data entry, operating office machines, sorting mail, and answering phone calls/taking messages. Qualified applicants must hold the minimum of an associate’s degree and have one (1) year experience in secretarial and/or clerical work. Pay rate: minimum $11.78 per hour.

RECEPTIONIST
Duties will include: receiving students, visitors, and college personnel in a prompt and courteous manner; and answering phone calls/taking messages. Qualified applicants must hold the minimum of a high school diploma. Pay rate: $9.19 per hour.

LAB ASSISTANT
Duties will include: preparing the laboratory(ies) for scheduled labs to insure the availability of materials and supplies; maintaining files; operating general office equipment such as a computer, copier, fax, and calculator. Qualified applicants must hold the minimum of a high school diploma. Pay rate: $10.82 per hour.

RESIDENTIAL HALL ATTENDANT
Duties will include: inspect rooms, maintain records, and provide supervision for resident assistants. Must be willing to work weekends, evenings, and other non-standard hours. Qualified applicants must hold the minimum of a high school diploma.  Daily rate varies by shift.

PERFORMING ARTS MASTER TRAINER
The primary task of the Master Trainer at Southern Union State Community College is to train students in activities designed to promote intellectual growth.  Essential duties include:  assist in planning and coordinating aspects of the Fine Arts instructional program on the Wadley Campus; assist Fine Arts faculty and staff in the achievement of objectives; assist with Fine Arts Department functions such as the annual Fine Arts Camp, Language and Fine Arts Tournament, and Performing Arts Scholarship auditions; and represent the Fine Arts Department to external groups.  The person in this position must have demonstrated proficiency in the Performing Arts.

SHOT CLOCK OPERATOR/SCOREKEEPER
Duties will include: control a separate timing device with a horn that shall have a sound distinct and different from that of the game clock.  An alternate timing device shall be available.  The scorekeeper's primary responsibility is to accurately record a game's score. Each time a team scores one or more points, the scorekeeper must post the updated score on the scoreboard. Qualified applicants must hold the minimum of a high school diploma.

BUS DRIVER
Duties will include: transport students, faculty and staff to special events, such as field trips or sporting events. Qualified applicants must hold commercial driver's licenses (CDL), with a passenger endorsement.
