Celebrating 100 Years

 

From its very beginnings in 1922, Southern Union State Community College has been rooted in community, and it is that sense of community that SUSCC will celebrate over the coming months as it commemorates 100 years of service to the citizens of east Alabama and beyond.

Centennial Celebration

October 15, 2022 | 10 am - 2pm

Come us help celebrate our 100th birthday! All alumni and friends are invited!

Reminisce with old friends about your time at SU...The day will feature food, a kids fun zone, performances by alumni fine arts department members and alumni athletic teams. Lunch will be provided free to the first 250 attendees.

The celebration will be in conjunction with activities in Downtown Wadley. The day will start with the Cranio Fun Run/Walk at 8 am downtown; then Carol Knight will present a historical presentation of Wadley's role in SU history. Campus activities begin at 10 while vendors and fun are going on downtown.

Things to Know

  • Campus tours are available each half hour beginning at 10:30 – Tours start at the Administration Building  
  • Visit the Memorabilia Room in the Lakeview Room and college archives in the Resource Center – open throughout the day
  • Fun zone for kids – open throughout the day
  • Register for door prizes and share contact information – Kiosks – alumni area and campus tour area
  • Meet Miss Alabama in the fine arts area – throughout the day
