Office Management

Office managers are business professionals who are responsible for a diverse set of administrative tasks. This program is designed for the professional development of individuals who desire to upgrade their knowledge and skills of business and prepare themselves for positions in office management.  Students in this program will learn the computer and communication skills employers say are needed the most in today’s office environment.

Southern Union’s Office Management program offers AAS and certificate options in Accounting, Administrative Office Management, and Medical Administrative Office Management. Short certificates are offered in Accounting, Administrative Office Management, Medical Administrative Office Management, Medical Billing and Coding Specialist, and Medical Transcription. The certificate options are for students who are seeking employment or to upgrade skills in the field of office management.

OFFICE MANAGEMENT  -  ACCOUNTING OPTION

Accounting, bookkeeping, and audit clerks work in a variety of office settings, including bank branches, medical offices, and government agencies.

Expected Job Outlook and Pay:
Because accounting, bookkeeping and auditing clerks is a large occupation, there will be a large number of job openings from workers leaving the occupation. This means opportunities to enter the occupation should be plentiful. The median annual wage for accounting, bookkeeping, and audit clerks is approximately $35,000. With advanced degrees, the median annual wage can be $45,000 and up.
