ADVISING FOR NEW STUDENTS
Spring Semester, 2011-12

First time students at Southern Union must see an academic advisor to register for classes (with the exception of dual enrollment, accelerated high school, and transient students). Advisors are available to meet with first-time students by appointment Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. To schedule an appointment call your local campus and press 3 for advising. All advisors will be available for walk-in advising without scheduling an appointment on the following dates. Students registering in person must visit the Records Office to begin the registration process.

Opelika Campus: December 6 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. CT
Wadley Campus: December 7 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. ET
Valley Campus: December 8 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. CT

NOTICE: Students who pre-register for a course for which they have not completed the prerequisite must successfully complete the prerequisite before they are allowed to remain in the next course. At the end of the term, students who have pre-registered for a course but did not pass the prerequisite will be removed from the class roll of the pre-registered course.

Example: If a student pre-registers for ENG 102 during the term that he is enrolled in ENG 101 and subsequently does not make a satisfactory grade in ENG 101, the student will be removed from the ENG 102 for which he pre-registered.
