Scholarships

Students may be able to obtain assistance in the form of scholarships granted on the basis of academic/technical achievement, participation in extracurricular and leadership activities, and exhibited talents of the fine arts.  Southern Union offers the following institutional scholarships:

  • Presidential Academic
  • Technical for Graduating Seniors
  • Technical for Non-Traditional Students
  • Ambassador

The scholarship deadline for the 2017 year is March 1, 2017.  

Performing Arts:

Performing Arts Scholarships are also available in the areas of 

  • Music 
  • Dance 
  • Theatre 
  • Technical Production 

Athletic Scholarships

Athletic scholarships are available for Men’s Basketball, Women’s Basketball, Baseball, Softball, Volleyball, Cheerleading, and Athletic Manager. For more information contact the Athletic Department at 256-395-2211, extension 5163.

Eligibility Requirements

Applications for institutional scholarships must be received by the published deadline (on or near March 1). Students must complete a FAFSA (www.fafsa.ed.gov) before applying for any institutional scholarship. In order to receive an institutional scholarship, a student must meet all college admission requirements.
