The Student Government Association of Southern Union
State Community College exists to stimulate and develop school
spirit, to encourage and maintain participation in school projects,
to foster a spirit of cooperation among the faculty and student
body, and to recommend ways and means by which the college may
be improved. This elective body is the students' official voice
in affairs of the college. Students are urged to understand its
purpose, to use their voices wisely in its regard, and to seek
to become a part of the working body itself if they feel that
they have contributions to make.
The association is specifically authorized and governed by a duly
ratified constitution. The constitution describes fully the limit
and scope of Student Government Association responsibilities and
procedures. Students should become familiar with the constitution
as soon as possible. For additional information concerning the
Student Government Association contact Lori
Daniel, Director of Student Life at extension 5170 or 5171.
