| Overview |
Radiologic Technologists produce diagnostic images
of internal structures of the body on x-ray film and/or computer
display monitors. Duties include positioning patients for radiologic
examinations; determining proper voltage, current, and exposure
time for each radiograph; adjusting x-ray equipment; and, assisting
radiologists with special procedures and the preparation of contrast
media. Radiographers must respect the rights and dignity of individuals
and display exceptional interpersonal skills, sensitivity, and
tact with ill, injured, and suffering patients. Those who have
chosen radiography as a profession must assume a commitment to
patient care and a responsibility for life-long learning.
