Language Arts The Language Arts Department offers the traditional freshman English and sophomore literature courses, as well as courses in speech, Spanish, and the humanities. These courses satisfy Southern Union graduation requirements, and they transfer to four year colleges and universities. The department also offers developmental courses in reading and writing for students who need additional instruction before they are ready for college-level work. The faculty in the Language Arts Department are highly qualified professionals who are dedicated to providing effective instruction and assistance to students.
