Qualified applicants must hold the minimum of a master's degree including 18 graduate semester hours (27 graduate quarter hours) in the teaching discipline. Developmental English requires a BS in the field.

Southern Union College invites candidates to apply for part-time faculty and/or lab assistant positions available for morning, afternoon, and evening classes.  Technical Division classes are held at the Opelika campus.
Qualified applicants for the part-time faculty positions listed below must have specialized coursework equivalent to the community or technical college program, a minimum of three years documented in-field work experience and appropriate licensure or certification when required by program.
 
  • Air Conditioning and Refrigeration
  • Automotive Collision Repair
  • Automobile Manufacturing Technology
  • Automotive Mechanics Technology
  • Cosmetology (requires instructor’s license)
  • Engineering Graphics and Design
  • Industrial Electricity/Electronics
  • Machine Shop Technology
  • Manufacturing Technology
  • Welding
 
  Qualified applicants for part-time lab assistant positions must hold a high school diploma or GED and have demonstrated in-field technical skill that exceeds that of the students to be assisted.
